After more than 20 years serving the Jersey Shore as a police officer, I retired as a detective sergeant in 2023. By that point, I was ready to start a new chapter in my life. Having first earned my real estate license back in 2012 while still on the force, my goal was to continue serving the shore—but now through real estate.
When I was growing up in South Jersey, we visited the shore all the time. My family has had a place here since the 1950s, and I spent my childhood fishing, surfing, and doing anything I could outdoors. I was a good kid, but when I started caring less about school, I was fortunate to have some great coaches in high school who kept me on the right path and pushed me toward college.
While studying science at Stockton, September 11th happened. That changed everything. Overnight I changed paths, going into law enforcement and committing to a life of service. I moved to the shore permanently in 2000 and spent the next two-plus decades patrolling the very communities I now help people buy and sell. I know these barrier islands, back bays, and beach towns like the back of my hand.
Originally, I earned my real estate license back in 2012, while I was still on the force. I made a few sales, but without real mentorship or support. I kept my license and did transactions here and there. When I got back into real estate in 2022, it was the first time I was able to fully dive in and focus on learning and building a business.
I came into the office every single day. I hosted open houses, got in front of people, and had real conversations. Keller Williams Atlantic Shore took me under their wing and helped me find my footing, and from there the momentum built through referrals and repeat clients because the relationships were genuine from the start. That consistency led to rapid growth—doubling my business from 2024 to 2025, with over $11.5 million sold in 2025. Which led to multiple awards including the NJR Circle of Excellence Award. I’ve never taken a salesman approach because I don’t see real estate as sales. When you’re doing it right, being a REALTOR® is being a guide, resource, and representative for people’s best interests.
It turns out, a career spent working with people through their worst moments prepared me well for this. As a trained hostage and crisis negotiator, I spent years reading people, building trust under pressure, and mediating situations where the stakes couldn't be higher. Real estate is someone's single greatest investment, and I treat it that way. Whether it's navigating a tough negotiation, pushing through a stressful closing, or coordinating all the moving parts in between, I am confident I can handle it.
I took protecting and serving seriously every single day I wore the badge, and I carry that same commitment into real estate. My clients can count on me to show up, tell the truth, fight for their best interests, and be a resource they can lean on long after the deal is done. I know this market, I know these communities, and I have built a reputation as someone people come back to and refer their friends and family to because they trust me. That means more to me than anything else. My goal is to be a go-to resource for anything real estate related.
My wife Andrea and I have two kids, Charlotte and Will, and two English Cream Golden Retrievers, Penny and Patty. Since switching to real estate, I’ve been able to be at my kids’ games, school events, and be more present at home. I also get to fish just about every single day and love boating and enjoying the beach.
Having patrolled the Jersey Shore for over 20 years, I know every corner of this community. With that knowledge, I help my clients find the right neighborhoods, whether that means being as close to the beach as possible, finding inland waterways and back-bay homes, or simply being in a great family-friendly community. I help my clients evaluate their options and desired lifestyle, and when viewing homes, I am honest. If I see a potential problem, I point it out. If I think a home might not be the right fit, I say so. The final decision is always yours. My role is to make sure you have all the information and support you need to make it confidently.
I am highly communicative and respond quickly to calls, texts, and any questions you have throughout the process. I know that a simple answer can put fears to bed, and the last thing I want is for you to be left wondering. If something comes up, you will know about it immediately and we will work through it together. Whether we are working through an offer, navigating inspection findings, or pushing toward a clean closing, I am in your corner fighting for the best possible outcome. And after the transaction is over, I am here as a lifelong resource—if you need anything, just let me know!
Sincerely,
Bill Bradshaw, REALTOR®
